Done Knocking on Doors: Juliana De on Why Women Should Open Them for Each Other
Olympic-trained athlete, tech leader, founder — and one of the women she's building for.
Juliana De · PartnerAlly
Her Story
GoBreezy didn't start with a big startup idea. It came from years of hard work — training as a little girl to become an Olympic athlete, then almost 20 years in corporate, including Apple, while earning her degrees and raising her kids.
There were years when running trails was probably the only thing keeping me sane.
The Challenges
She was passed over, rejected, underestimated and laughed at. When she finally built something of her own, experience and hard work didn't make entrepreneurship any easier. She put her own money and countless hours into PartnerAlly and The Kind Power — pitching, applying for grants, fundraising, hosting events and asking people to believe in what she was building.
Many times, the support simply didn't come.
What Inspires Her
Through The Kind Power, she met brilliant, creative women dealing with kids, money, trauma, transportation, family circumstances, burnout and lack of opportunity.
Women who had every reason to give up. And didn't.
Her Purpose
That is where GoBreezy came from. It's not finished — she's building it together with the people who might actually need it: join, try it, and tell her what works, what doesn't, and what you need.
I realized I am one of those women too. And I realized I don't want to feel sorry for us. I want us to create opportunities for each other.
“I've spent enough years knocking on doors. Maybe it's time we start opening some for each other.”
